Job Summary

ERMCO is seeking motivated and innovative recent graduates to join our engineering team. The Engineer I role is designed for individuals who have recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in an engineering discipline and are eager to apply technical knowledge in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This position provides hands-on experience supporting product development, manufacturing processes, quality initiatives, continuous improvement efforts, and operational excellence. Engineers will collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve problems, drive efficiencies, and contribute to projects that support ERMCO's mission of delivering reliable electrical solutions to customers across North America.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Support engineering projects, process improvements, and operational initiatives.
  • Analyze technical data and provide recommendations to improve quality, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Assist with the design, development, testing, and implementation of engineering solutions.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
  • Collaborate with operations, quality, supply chain, maintenance, and other functional teams to solve technical challenges.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation, reports, work instructions, and technical specifications.
  • Support product development, validation, and manufacturing process improvement activities.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, or other problem-solving methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Present project findings and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate ERMCO's POWER Values in all aspects of work.

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Degree concentration in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship, co-op, undergraduate research, graduate research, or project experience related to engineering or manufacturing.
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, process improvement, or quality systems.
  • Experience with CAD, modeling, simulation, data analysis, or engineering software applicable to the discipline.
  • Demonstrated leadership through academic projects, student organizations, internships, or community involvement.
  • Interest in manufacturing, power distribution equipment, industrial operations, or product development.
