Job Summary
The Electronics Technician is responsible for supporting the product development team with CAD, mechanical and electrical prototyping, assembly, debugging, rework and support of design and validation testing.

 

This role will be onsite in Raleigh, NC. Relocation Assistance is available.

Responsibilities

  • Support of engineering prototypes throughout their usable lifetime including procurement, contract manufacturer support, assembly and rework as needed.
  • Actively participate with Hardware Engineering including validation testing activities
  • Manufacturing Engineering (test fixturing, programming, analysis)
  • Provide guidance and support on DFM and Pilot Manufacturing transition
  • Manage low voltage engineering laboratory, including components and rework.
  • Track laboratory equipment and manage calibration and repair as needed.
  • Inspection, debugging, and repair of printed circuit boards.
  • Wiring of high-power, high-voltage test setups

Qualifications

  • Associates degree, preferably bachelors, in electrical engineering technology or equivalent degree or experience.
  • 10 or more years of experience in circuit board assembly and rework.
  • Proficient with mechanical prototyping and fabrication tools.
  • Experience using schematic and layout CAD tools and preferably design of circuit boards.
  • Familiarity with common electronic components such as op-amps, capacitors, and microcontrollers.
  • Experience with debugging of PCBs and commonly used electronics laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, LCR meters, power supplies, and signal generators.
  • Experience working in a team environment.

 

Additional Desired Experience

  • Machining, mechanical assembly, and use of CAD tools.
  • Lab management, including equipment calibration tracking, engineering materials inventory.
  • Safety systems, standards, and procedures such as MSDS, interlocks, LOTO, NFPA and OSHA.
