Job Summary:

The Continuous Improvement Engineer will utilize their skill set and expertise to solve customer-focused problems through data-based analysis. Through this effort the team will drive continuous improvement, transformation, and process enhancements across the business.

 

Responsibilities

  • Be an active, visible, positive-change leader for the organization.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts in the assigned areas of responsibility and be a willing assistant for others.
  • Evaluate Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity, and Cost for the assigned areas and develop an active list of Opportunities for Improvement (OFIs)
  • Work alongside Operations, Product Engineering, Quality, Safety, Supply Chain, IT, Sales and Finance to develop, refine and successfully execute (on time, on budget) on OFIs.
  • Perform the necessary engineering work to drive successful project completion, including project definition, data collection and analysis, value-stream mapping, workflow design, information flow design, financial analysis, solution development and implementation.
  • Accurately communicate status and quality of project and deliverables to team, leadership, and stakeholders
  • Be professionally curious with a desire to become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the assigned areas of responsibility.

Qualifications

Education or Equivalent (any of these may apply):

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical) from an accredited institution
  • 3+ years’ experience in manufacturing, industrial, quality, product, or process engineering

 

Knowledge/Skills Requirements:

  • Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies and techniques (LSS, DMAIC)
  • Project leadership experience
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, data analysis tools, AUTOCAD
  • Self-aware; able to collaborate well with people across the organization, individually and in groups
  • Effective communication and listening skills
  • Able to manage multiple tasks, detail oriented, work with minimum supervision
