Job Summary:
The Senior IT Support Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of ERMCO’s IT infrastructure. This position provides advanced technical support, mentors junior staff, and contributes to process improvement and technology adoption. The ideal candidate demonstrates deep technical expertise, strong leadership, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and service delivery.  

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues across hardware, software, and network systems. 

  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and root cause analysis for recurring or high-impact incidents. 

  • Mentor and guide junior IT support staff, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing. 

  • Collaborate with infrastructure and cybersecurity teams to ensure alignment with ERMCO’s technology standards and security posture. 

  • Manage and optimize documentation and reporting. 

  • Support and maintain enterprise-level systems including Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and endpoint management tools. 

  • Assist in the deployment and support of Nutanix-based infrastructure and Hycu backup solutions. 

  • Participate in IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and rollouts. 

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and user guides. 

  • Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and security standards. 

  • Provide input into technology selection and process improvement initiatives. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or 8 years of experience.
  • 4–6 years of experience in IT support or systems administration, with increasing responsibility.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills across operating systems, applications, and network environments.
  • Experience with Nutanix, Hycu, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and endpoint management platforms.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS, VPN).
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices and help desk management systems.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to lead initiatives and work independently or collaboratively.
  • Strong documentation habits and attention to detail.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, or equivalent are preferred.
