Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing and procuring goods and services—including raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, and supplies—while ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Review requisitions, production schedules, and MRP reports to determine purchasing needs.
  • Communicate with suppliers to obtain information on pricing, availability, and delivery timelines.
  • Evaluate and select products through testing, observation, or examination.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders and bid requests.
  • Maintain inventory levels to support production schedules and meet financial targets.
  • Source production components from approved vendors and foster strong supplier relationships.
  • Review bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budgetary and authority guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchases, costs, delivery performance, and inventory data.
  • Collaborate with quality control and suppliers to resolve issues with defective or non-compliant goods or services.
  • Approve invoices for payment and expedite deliveries as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a purchasing role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (including military experience).
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, manage multiple priorities, and maintain attention to detail.
