Summary

We have an opening in Safety for an Environmental, Health and Safety Engineer. This position will be responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating programs that result in EHS regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Assist the EHS Manager with the development, implementation, and compliance of EHS programs.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and ERMCO EHS policies and procedures.

  • Support Emergency Response functions, roles, and responsibilities in accordance with the site Emergency Response Plan.

  • Partner with management and supervisors to ensure all site associates understand and comply with regulatory, plant, and corporate EHS policies and procedures.

  • Ensure all required EHS reporting is completed accurately and submitted on time.

  • Ensure programs are in place and followed for employee monitoring and testing requirements.

  • Assist in developing and maintaining safety systems, policies, and procedures.

  • Conduct inspections of facilities, machinery, equipment, and personnel practices to identify safety and health hazards.

  • Conduct accident investigations and provide recommendations to prevent recurrence.

  • Train employees and management in safe practices and EHS procedures.

  • Ensure all on-site contract services comply with EHS standards.

  • Assist with compliance requirements related to SPCC, SWPPP, wastewater, ISO, and other regulatory programs.

  • Assist with risk management inspections and identify compliance improvement opportunities.

  • Work with vendors to determine product specifications, coordinate the purchase of equipment/materials/parts, and evaluate products for compliance with specifications and quality standards.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university; one to two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent time-management skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Five years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
