Job Summary

The Design Engineer III will be responsible for the design and manufacturing of overhead, submersible, and pad-mounted distribution transformers.  A strong candidate will have knowledge and experience in the following areas: Distribution Transformers, 2D CAD Drawings, Schematics and Line Diagrams, 3D Modeling, and Inventor Assemblies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical direction for design and manufacturing of all transformer products
  • Lead product optimization and cost reduction projects to improve profitability
  • Assist Sales departments with order processing and loading bill of materials into ERP system
  • Review and revise material specification requirements with vendors and suppliers. Assist Supply Chain department with material changes, drawing revisions, consolidation projects, and commodity cost reduction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and/or Power Systems with 5 years of transformer design experience
  • In lieu of an engineering degree, equivalent of 15+ years of experience with Transformer Design, Manufacturing, Testing, and/or Field will be considered
  • 5 years of experience using AutoCAD 2D or comparable software
  • 3 years of experience using SolidWorks, Inventor, or comparable software
