Who Are You
The Production Supervisor is a vital leadership position responsible for driving operational excellence and transformation within our electrical transformer manufacturing facility. This role is especially critical as our facility undergoes a turnaround, requiring strong leadership to implement change, improve processes, and build a high-performance culture. Responsibilities

 

What Will You Do

  • Lead daily operations on the production floor, ensuring manufacturing processes meet schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols.
  • Drive change in a turnaround environment by identifying improvement opportunities, implementing corrective actions, and sustaining gains.
  • Monitor overdue units and turnaround times to ensure consistent on-time delivery.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Team Leads to allocate resources effectively, resolve production challenges, and minimize downtime.
  • Review and analyze production metrics to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks, introducing innovative solutions that enhance productivity and product quality.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen operational performance and employee engagement.
  • Collect, interpret, and maintain essential reports, including production output, employee time/attendance, and product waste, ensuring accuracy and timeliness (Excel proficiency required; training provided).
  • Manage production scheduling, including vacation and time-off planning.
  • Address performance, attendance, and employee relations issues in collaboration with Human Resources and the General Manager.
  • Support hiring, retention, and onboarding of employees, including development of training schedules and facilitation of training.
  • Provide input and recommendations for capital expenditure (CapEx) planning.
  • Implement housekeeping schedules, ensuring a clean and organized work environment.
  • Promote associate engagement by modeling enthusiasm, commitment, and teamwork.
  • Enforce a safety-first culture through audits, procedure compliance, and training.
  • Conduct performance evaluations with constructive feedback and coaching to develop employees and strengthen team capability.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager and fellow Production Supervisors to align production goals with broader plant objectives.
  • Mentor and develop Team Leads, supporting their professional growth and readiness for greater responsibility.

Qualifications

 

What Will You Need

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in manufacturing, engineering, or related field preferred
  • At least three years of experience as a Team Lead or in an equivalent leadership role
  • Seven years of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
  • Three to five years of supervisory experience, preferably in manufacturing or warehouse operations
  • Strong knowledge of production processes, quality standards, and safety regulations
  • Proven ability to lead through change in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all organizational levels
  • Servant leadership mindset with demonstrated success in motivating and engaging teams
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality, efficiency, and safety
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and general computer applications

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Experience with MRP or ERP systems
