This team member would take on the role of CNC Programmer / Machinist as part of the Advanced Materials and Methods team. The individual would work as part of our closely coupled design and manufacturing team aiding in the development and production of equipment used to process electrical steel and produce electrical transformer components. The ERMCO team operates in an open, non-hierarchical manner to achieve efficient use of all team members’ contributions, staying flexible at all stages of equipment and process development. The individual must be highly motivated and committed to the highest level of product performance and quality.  The individual must be viewed by peers as an optimist, and balance persistence with professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to development of manufacturing and test equipment related to production of electrical transformers and components, Including physical design, manufacturing, prototyping, production, and testing
  • Create components, currently using the following equipment:
    Okuma 4-Axis CNC Mill
    2-Axis NC Lathe
    Plasma Table
    3d Printer
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, software developers, and production staff, to achieve project goals
  • Use CAD software – e.g., Inventor, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion and MasterCam 360
  • Expertise in programming CNC equipment systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

 

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Familiarity with steel component fabrication - machining, CNC, & tooling, welding
  • Interpret technical drawings, analyze blueprints, engineering drawings, and CAD models to understand part specifications and dimensions.
  • Ability to understand and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of CNC programming languages and techniques.
  • Proficiency with CAD software – e.g., Inventor, SolidWorks, AutoCAD.  Fusion and MasterCam 360 preferred.
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues during the manufacturing process.
  • Understanding of machining processes, materials, and tooling.
  • Strong mathematical skills are needed for calculating dimensions, toolpaths, and machine parameters,  
  • Hard working, motivated, self-starter and finisher, great attention to detail
  • Ability to schedule and work on multiple projects concurrently
  • Self-motivated and a strong analytical mindset with desire to learn

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
