Responsibilities

Role Overview

As Director of Sales - Dry Type & Components, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets and expand the customer base. This role requires a deep understanding of the distribution transformer market, exceptional leadership skills, strategic account management prowess and a proven track record in sales management and customer relationship building.

 

Role Specifics

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. More specifically, your essential duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans that expand the company’s customer base and ensure its strong presence in the industry.
  • Lead and motivate the sales team to achieve sales targets, with a focus on high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Identify emerging market trends and opportunities for business growth within the region.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, industry stakeholders, and business partners.
  • Oversee the negotiation of contracts and agreements to maximize profit while ensuring compliance with legal and company policies.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and reports, analyzing performance data to inform strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and product development teams to align sales strategies with market needs and product offerings.
  • Manage sales budgets and expenses, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost management.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, providing coaching and professional development opportunities for the sales team.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote brand awareness and generate new business opportunities.
  • Manage other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The Ideal Candidate

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. To be a good fit for this opportunity you will also have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree in Business Administration or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of related sales experience with 10 or more years in the distribution transformer, OEM or related industry. At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role. Experience in the dry type side of transformers will be a strong advantage.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales growth and leadership in a competitive market.
  • Experience in developing strategic sales plans and overseeing their successful execution.
  • Strong network within the distribution transformer industry, with established relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of market dynamics and customer requirements.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • High degree of professionalism and ethical standards.
  • Proactive, results-oriented, and able to drive sales growth.
  • Strong team player with proven ability to work collaboratively across departments and teams.
  • Adaptable and resilient, with the capacity to navigate market changes.
  • Customer-focused demeanor with a commitment to building long-term relationships.
  • Proficiency in CRM and ERP software.

 This is a full-time role with the ability to work on-site or remote with travel anticipated up to 50% of the time which will include site visits to manufacturing facilities, customer meetings and other events.
