Who Are You

ERMCO is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Sales to lead the Sales team for Pioneer Transformers. Pioneer designs and manufactures liquid-filled transformers tailored to unique applications. With decades of electrical and mechanical engineering expertise, resourceful design, and precision craftsmanship, our team delivers high-quality solutions to ensure long-term operational success.

 

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans to drive revenue growth and expand our customer base. This role requires strong leadership, deep market knowledge, and a proven history in sales management, new business development, and customer relationship development.

 

**This position is remote in the following states: FL, GA, IL, KS, NC, NE, SC, SD, TN, TX, WI, WY or Canada

Responsibilities

 

What You Will Do

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to expand market share and strengthen industry presence for the Pioneer scope of products globally and ERMCO scope of products in Canada and US markets.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets through high performance and accountability.
  • Oversee the Pioneer inside sales team, ensuring a high level of customer service and goal achievement.
  • Manage the Pioneer quoting team to deliver accurate, timely quotes and proposals, supporting revenue and business growth.
  • Manage a team of Strategic Account Managers focused on driving customer engagement, sales growth, customer satisfaction, and ERMCO’s vision to be the industry’s most valued partner.
  • Lead all commercial efforts related to 3PH contract manufacturing partner(s).
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, industry stakeholders, and business partners.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements to maximize profitability while ensuring compliance with legal and company policies.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and performance reports, using data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product development teams to align sales strategies with market demands and product offerings.
  • Manage sales budgets and expenses, ensuring optimal resource allocation and cost efficiency.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, providing coaching and professional development opportunities for the sales team.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote brand awareness and generate new business.

Qualifications

 

What You Will Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree in Business Administration or related field (preferred) 
  • 10+ years of industry experience including distribution transformer, power transformer or related sector, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Proven record of driving sales growth and market leadership.
  • Experience in developing and executing strategic sales plans.
  • Strong network within the distribution transformer industry, with established client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Transformer technical knowledge (Power, Networks, Distribution).
  • In-depth understanding of regional market dynamics and customer requirements.
  • Exceptional leadership, team management, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, quoting, bid proposals, and relationship-building abilities.
  • High degree of professionalism, ethics, and customer focus.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to navigate market changes and drive results.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and experience with ERP systems.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% throughout Canada and US.
