Overview

Perform mechanical design, produce engineering plans and drawings, and prepare technical documentation required for transformer manufacturing.

Ability to program automated drafting functions in LISP programming language or to modify existing automated functions.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze specifications and standards for products defined in specifications, and ensure compliance with national standards (CSA, ANSI).
  • Using a design station and computer-assisted drawings, create mechanical designs and 3D models for products.
  • Submit plans and overall drawings to the engineer in charge of the department for verification and approval
  • Modify plans and overall drawings, if necessary, to bring them into line with specifications.
  • Produce and check detailed drawings and technical documentation required for manufacturing.
  • Verify the quality and conformity of manufactured products.
  • Answer production questions and participate in problem-solving.

Qualifications

  • College diploma in mechanical engineering techniques
  • Mastery of microcomputers, knowledge of Windows and experience in computer-aided mechanical design drawing on Autocad software.
  • Good knowledge of LISP programming language, an asset.
  • Functional bilingualism is desirable.
  • Attention to detail and precision, organizational skills and the ability to work both as part of a team and independently.
  • Willing to travel to Granby plant.
