Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

  • Lead & Mentor – Supervise and support manufacturing engineers, providing guidance and technical expertise to grow team capabilities.
  • Optimize Processes – Design and refine manufacturing processes for transformer production with a focus on efficiency, cost savings, and quality.
  • Drive Projects – Lead implementation of new production lines and improvement projects—from equipment selection to layout and workflow design.
  • Analyze & Improve – Conduct time studies, simulations, and cost analyses to identify bottlenecks and optimize operations.
  • Support the Floor – Provide hands-on training and engineering support to operators and production staff.
  • Ensure Quality – Implement and monitor quality control processes to meet and exceed industry standards (UL, CSA, IEEE, NEMA).
  • Collaborate Across Teams – Act as a liaison between Engineering and Manufacturing, and work closely with R&D, Quality, and Production.
  • Document & Standardize – Create and maintain SOPs, equipment specs, and process documentation to ensure repeatable, high-quality operations.
  • Promote Safety & Compliance – Uphold all environmental, health, and safety protocols.
  • Champion Continuous Improvement – Lead initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, and other methodologies to improve performance and reduce waste.
  • Innovate & Evolve – Stay current on emerging manufacturing technologies and apply them to enhance operations.
  • Problem Solve – Investigate root causes of production issues and implement corrective actions using tools like FMEA.

Qualifications

What You’ll Need

  • Education – Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience – 5+ years in manufacturing or process engineering, preferably in transformer or related industries.
  • Production Line Expertise – Proven experience launching and optimizing production lines using time studies, EPC design, 5S, and CI tools.
  • Certifications – Lean, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement credentials are a strong plus.
  • Industry Knowledge – Understanding of relevant standards (UL, CSA, IEEE, NEMA).
  • Leadership – Track record of mentoring engineers and guiding teams toward success.
  • Technical Skills – Proficiency in CAD and other engineering design tools.
  • Soft Skills – Strong communication, organization, analytical thinking, and teamwork.
