Position: Journeyman Machinist

As a Journeyman Machinist, you’ll play a key role in the design, fabrication, modification, and repair of machinery and equipment that drives our operations. You’ll oversee multiple fabrication projects, ensuring high-quality, efficient, and timely results.

This position is on site at our new location in Bristol, WI.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do:

  • Coordinate project schedules and updates with the Production Services Manager
  • Design and modify machinery and equipment
  • Create detailed prints and drawings as needed
  • Oversee all phases of fabrication to ensure quality and efficiency
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment or personnel-related challenges
  • Build, rebuild, and refurbish machinery, equipment, and fixtures
  • Paint new and refurbished equipment
  • Operate a variety of fabrication equipment, machines, and tools
  • Collaborate closely with maintenance and warehouse teams to meet deadlines
  • Maintain high-quality standards and minimize scrap/loss
  • Manage raw materials and supply inventory; notify purchasing when restocks are needed
  • Train new hires and existing team members on fabrication processes
  • Uphold and enforce company policies and safety procedures
  • Keep fabrication/tool area in a clean, tour-ready condition

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring:

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3+ years of MIG welding experience
  • 3+ years of experience in machine fabrication and design, or an equivalent combination of training and hands-on experience

Knowledge Of:

  • Fabrication systems, processes, and equipment
  • Welding techniques and machinery
  • Mechanical systems and machine design
  • Blueprint reading, safety rules, and maintenance documentation
  • CAD software, 4-axis CNC, and precision tool room equipment (e.g., end mill, surface grinder)

Skills In:

  • Fusion 360 or Autodesk Inventor
  • MIG and TIG welding
  • Plasma cutting
  • Lathe and mill setup/operation
  • Fabrication tools (Ironworker, shears, punch & die, etc.)
  • Precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers)
  • Forklift operation

  • Interpret mechanical and technical concepts
  • Work collaboratively with team members
  • Lead and manage project workflows
  • Take initiative and meet deadlines
  • Communicate clearly and effectively
  • Solve problems with a sharp eye for detail
