Overview

The Process Engineer is responsible for supporting manufacturing and production processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety. This role involves analyzing current processes, implementing improvements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance overall production performance. The Process Engineer will work under guidance but is expected to contribute independently to process optimization projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in evaluating and improving manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Support the development and implementation of process control methods, ensuring consistency and compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with production teams to identify and resolve process-related issues.
  • Conduct data analysis and use statistical methods to monitor and improve process performance.
  • Participate in root cause analysis for process deviations, defects, and inefficiencies.
  • Assist in developing and updating work instructions, standard operating procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Work closely with engineering, quality, and maintenance teams to ensure seamless production operations.
  • Support new product introductions and process changes by conducting trials and assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and best practices in process engineering.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field) or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or process engineering role.
  • Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and problem-solving techniques.
  • Familiarity with process mapping, statistical process control (SPC), and continuous improvement principles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and collaborate with cross-functional groups.
  • Experience with CAD software and process simulation tools is a plus.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a detailed manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of automation and control systems.
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher) is an advantage.
  • Hands-on experience with problem-solving methodologies.
