Who Are You

As an Associate Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting design engineering tasks, ensuring they are completed efficiently and accurately while adhering to established processes and procedures. Your responsibilities will include maintaining and updating design information for manufacturing and collaborating with various departments to address inquiries and needs.

 

In this position, you will assist in design engineering tasks, contributing to the development of innovative solutions. You will be responsible for ensuring that design documentation is accurate and readily accessible for manufacturing teams. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to address design-related inquiries and requirements.

Responsibilities

 

What Will You Do

  • Collaborate with design engineers to provide support to marketing, manufacturing, and related departments
  • Ensure product designs prioritize safety and manufacturability, aligning with industry standards
  • Develop new parts and assemblies to fulfill customer requirements and meet ERMCO’s specifications
  • Verify that all designs comply with customer specifications, ERMCO standards, and industry regulations
  • Produce detailed 2D and 3D drawings, offering shop support to resolve design-related issues
  • Maintain accurate engineering design data within the Design System for seamless accessibility
  • Actively participate in Kaizen events and other continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Engineer custom designs, utilizing and troubleshooting DE software and established procedures
  • Collaborate with personnel from various departments to discuss ideas, processes, tests, products, and drawings, as well as liaising with external customers and vendors
  • Employ established departmental procedures, equipment, materials, tools, and practices to achieve departmental goals
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned to support team objectives

Qualifications

 

What Will You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of two years of experience utilizing CAD software for 2D and 3D modeling
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Access, for data management and reporting
  • Knowledgeable in 5S standards and committed to maintaining an organized and efficient working environment
  • Proactively seeks, shares, and implements new concepts to foster continuous improvement for oneself and the team
  • Collaborates effectively with colleagues both individually and within teams to achieve organizational goals
  • Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills, demonstrating the ability to tackle complex challenges
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail, ensuring high-quality outcomes
  • Understands the processes and operations of the entire plant, aligning work with customer expectations
  • Committed to providing exceptional customer service, both internally and externally
  • Displays a cooperative attitude and initiative by collaborating with teams and willingly taking on responsibilities and challenges

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • This position is contingent upon successfully passing all applicable fit-for-duty requirements
  • The role may require occasional climbing, bending, or squatting
  • Regularly required to lift and/or move objects weighing 20-35 pounds, with the ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
