Overview

The Contract Specialist is responsible for managing the organization's sales contracts throughout their lifecycle, from initiation and negotiation to execution and closure. This role involves serving as the sales team’s primary contact on all contract issues, partnering with the legal team to ensure compliance with legal requirements and organizational policies, managing contract databases, and supporting the negotiation and administration of contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Support sales team RVPs (Liquid-filled and dry type) and strategic account managers with new and existing contract negotiations including amendments
  • Address flagged issues with contracts (from the legal team) that require business decisions
  • Review and analyze customer contracts, focusing on volume commitment agreements, to ensure they meet company standards and objectives.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the terms and conditions that govern ERMCO’s contracts, advising on best practices and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Support contract negotiation processes by providing analysis and recommendations.
  • Maintain and update contract databases and records, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
  • Monitor contract performance, including compliance with terms and deadlines.
  • Assist in the management of contract renewals, amendments, and negotiations, ensuring that agreements continue to meet business needs.
  • Coordinate with sales, legal, finance, and operations teams to ensure contract terms are clearly understood and effectively implemented.
  • Identify opportunities for optimizing contract terms to enhance profitability, reduce risk, and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on contract management procedures and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Contract Management, or a related field OR equivalent work experience in the Sales or Engineering field. Advanced degrees or certifications is a plus.
  • 3 years of experience in contract management or a related field.
  • Knowledge of industry contract standards, procurement processes, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in managing legal documents.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and tools.
