Overview

The Quality Business Analyst is a critical role within the Quality function of our distribution transformer manufacturing organization. This position is responsible for monitoring and analyzing the quality of our manufacturing processes and products to ensure they meet both internal and external standards and specifications. The Quality Analyst will work closely with production, engineering, and quality assurance teams to identify areas for quality improvement, support root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, ensure updated documentation and continuous quality enhancement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality analysis, statistical process control, and problem-solving in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed quality analyses of manufacturing processes and finished products using statistical process control (SPC) methods and quality management tools.
  • Monitor and report on key quality performance indicators (KPIs), identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Participate in root cause analysis for product and process quality issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of quality documentation, including control plans, quality procedures, and inspection checklists.
  • Perform regular audits of manufacturing processes and quality control points to ensure adherence to established quality standards and procedures.
  • Support the management of the non-conformance and corrective action processes, tracking resolution timelines and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to ensure quality considerations are integrated into new product development and process modifications.
  • Conduct training sessions on quality tools and methodologies for production staff and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Participate in supplier quality assessments and work with suppliers to address quality issues affecting supplied materials or components.
  • Assist in the preparation for and participation in external quality audits and certifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize quality management software systems to document and manage quality data and actions.
  • Stay updated on industry quality standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices to continuously improve the quality function.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality analysis or quality assurance role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the transformer or electrical equipment manufacturing industry.
  • Demonstrated experience with statistical analysis, SPC, and quality improvement tools and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Proficient in the use of statistical analysis software and quality management systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate across departments.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
