Overview

Directs and coordinates activities of production department(s) in processing materials or manufacturing products in industrial organization by performing the following duties:    

 

Responsibilities

Essential Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of all production shifts, departments and personnel to achieve timely and efficient production to manufacturing schedules and customer requirements
  • Plan production operations and establish priorities and sequences for manufacturing while working closely with Production Planning and Scheduling to develop efficient production plans
  • Review production and operating reports and resolve operational, manufacturing and maintenance problems to ensure minimum cost and to prevent operational delays
  • Ensure that accident reporting and accident investigations are timely and thorough
  • Revise, work with Engineer to revise any Standard Operating Procedures
  • Resolve worker concerns and/or submit unsettled complaints to Human Resources for action
  • Must maintain an outwardly positive attitude and act as a team player
  • Oversees all shift and area leads and is required to adjust work hours when necessary
  • Flexability is a must within other shifts. 
  • Overtime sometimes is required.

  • Education and/or Experience: Three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Preferred Bilingual in Spanish.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Forklift Operation. Training and certification available

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
