Overview

The Enterprise Distribution & Logistics Manager is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the logistics operations across all ERMCO sites. This includes direct management of centralized logistics coordinators and indirect oversight of logistics and shipping managers at all ERMCO sites. The ideal candidate will ensure that logistics and distribution strategies are efficiently executed across the enterprise, aligning with company goals to optimize delivery performance, minimize costs, and enhance customer satisfaction and reports into the Director, Distribution and Logistics. 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of logistics strategies to improve delivery efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer service.
  • Oversee centralized scheduling operations to ensure optimal routing, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Provide indirect leadership to shipping and traffic managers, ensuring cohesive logistics operations across multiple locations.
  • Collaborate with production, sales, and supply chain departments to align logistics strategies with business objectives.
  • Analyze logistics performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives to address areas of concern.
  • Negotiate contracts with carriers, suppliers, and logistics service providers to secure favorable terms and performance standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards related to logistics and transportation.
  • Manage logistics budgets, forecasting costs, and controlling expenditures to meet financial targets.
  • Lead crisis management efforts to resolve logistics disruptions promptly, minimizing impact on customer deliveries.
  • Foster a culture of safety, compliance, and efficiency within the logistics team and across all transportation activities.
  • Occasional travel to other EMRCO sites.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree or professional certification in logistics or supply chain management is preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record in managing centralized scheduling and overseeing shipping and traffic operations.
  • Experience in the distribution transformer industry or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing logistics strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Strong background in negotiating contracts and managing relationships with logistics service providers.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal abilities to manage and motivate teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively negotiating and building relationships.
  • Proactive and innovative, with a continuous improvement mindset.
