Overview

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and optimizing the routing & scheduling of finished goods shipments, logistics, and delivery activities across the Distribution & Logistics Department within our electrical transformer manufacturing company. The Logistics Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring that all components of the logistics supply chain are synchronized to meet business objectives, maximize efficiency, and reduce costs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, shipping, or logistics with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize comprehensive finished goods shipment schedules for multiple manufacturing plants, ensuring alignment with customer volume commitment agreements and focusing on on-time deliveries.
  • Ensure raw material shipments are scheduled and monitored to ensure material is delivered to meet production demands.
  • Utilize TMS and/or outside programs to schedule transportation shipments and deliveries.
  • Collaborate with production, procurement, quality, and sales departments to gather information on customer needs and shipping requirements.
  • Monitor production plans to ensure compliance with volume commitment agreements with customers, adjusting shipping schedules as necessary to meet contractual obligations.
  • Manage and update scheduling tools, databases, and systems, ensuring accuracy and accessibility of information.
  • Implement best practices in scheduling and supply chain management to continuously improve processes and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve scheduling conflicts and challenges, working proactively to minimize disruptions and ensure on-time delivery of products and services.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in scheduling and supply chain management.
  • Occasional travel to other ERMCO sites.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in supply chain management, with a focus on logistics and shipping.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage complex schedules in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with ERP and supply chain management software and advanced scheduling tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and make informed scheduling decisions.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the capability to collaborate with multiple departments and levels of management.
  • Proactive and flexible, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and a passion for optimizing logistics supply chain operations.
