About the Position

This position will use their skillset to operate machinery at Power Partners (a division of ERMCO). This hands-on role requires precision, physical stamina, and a strong commitment to safety and quality. You’ll contribute directly to our mission by ensuring each unit meets our rigorous standards and reflects our core values.

 

Responsibilities

What you will do

Machine Operators at ERMCO set up, run, and troubleshoot machines used to make transformers. They follow clear instructions and safety rules to keep operations smooth and safe. The job involves handling heavy metal parts—often over 50 pounds—using tools or lifting equipment. Operators use hand and power tools like drills and wrenches and measuring tools like tape measures and calipers to ensure parts are made correctly. They inspect products for quality, keep their work area clean, and wear protective gear like safety shoes, glasses, gloves, and hearing protection. Most importantly, they work as a team and stay focused on safety and improving how things are done.

Necessary Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required
  • Understand and follow instructions (spoken or written).
  • Use electronic devices like iPads for communication.
  • Stay organized and pay close attention to details.
  • Do basic math, including small fractions and decimals.
  • Lift safely using correct techniques.
  • Use hands and arms to handle tools and materials.
  • Measure accurately with tools like rulers, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Operate hand and power tools, such as ratchets, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, hammers, and grinders.
  • Use lifting equipment, including overhead hoists and assist devices.
  • Lift or move heavy items (over 50 lbs).
  • Stand and walk often; sometimes sit, bend, reach, or kneel.
  • Have good vision, including depth perception and focus (20/40 or better, with or without glasses/contacts).
  • Follow all safety rules and department-specific guidelines.
  • Wear required safety gear, like steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, cut-resistant gloves, and hearing protection.

 

 

Preferred Qualification:

  • 3 Years of consistent work history
  • 1 year of manufacturing experience
