About the Position

As a Material Handler at ERMCO, you play a critical role in keeping our production process moving efficiently and safely. This position focuses on the accurate handling, movement, and storage of materials used in transformer manufacturing. You’ll ensure components are delivered to the right place at the right time, maintain inventory integrity, and support a clean, organized work environment. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety will help ERMCO maintain its reputation for quality and reliability.

Responsibilities

 

What you will do

As a Material Handler at ERMCO, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently handling, moving, and storing materials used in transformer manufacturing. You will receive, stage, and deliver components to the correct production areas to keep workflows on schedule, while operating material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead hoists in compliance with safety standards. This role requires following detailed written and verbal instructions for material movement and inventory control, performing regular lifting and moving of materials weighing 50+ lbs. using proper techniques and assistive devices when needed. You will maintain inventory accuracy, ensure materials meet ERMCO quality standards, and keep work areas clean and organized. Above all, you will adhere to all ERMCO safety policies and procedures to support a safe and productive environment.

Qualifications

Necessary Qualifications

  • Communicate and understand written and verbal instructions
  • Use iPad or other electronic communication devices
  • Work in a team environment with open communication and collaboration
  • Use of organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurements
  • Demonstrate proper lifting techniques
  • Grasp, reach, and handle objects, tools, and materials
  • Use measuring devices such as tap measures, calipers, and micrometers (digital and manual)
  • Use hand/power tools such as cordless drills, air ratchets, wrenches, pliers, and hammers
  • Operate overhead hoists and lift assist equipment
  • Must be able to lift/push 75+ lbs. and pull up to 60 lbs
  • Frequent standing and walking
  • Occasional sitting, stooping, reaching, or kneeling
  • 20/40 vision is required with or without the use of corrective glasses and/or contact lens, as well as normal peripheral vision no less than 70, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Must comply with all plant safety policies and procedures and any special department safety rules
  • Must be able to wear all required PPE including, but not limited to safety toe shoes, safety glasses, cut resistant gloves, weld hood and hearing protection

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 Years of Consistent work history
  • 1 year of manufacturing experience
