Responsibilities

About the Position

As a Quality Representative, you will use your skillsets to inspect, test, analyze, and/or repair Pad, Pole, or 3Phase transformers. This hands-on role requires precision, physical stamina, and a strong commitment to safety and quality. You’ll contribute directly to ERMCO’s mission by ensuring each unit meets our rigorous standards and reflects our core values.

 

What you will do:

Accurately follow detailed written and verbal instructions to inspect, test, analyze, and repair distribution transformers. This role involves the safe and efficient operation of test equipment, including proper start-up and shut-down procedures. Candidates must be able to repeatedly lift and move materials weighing over 50 lbs., either independently or with assistance, and effectively use hand and power tools along with testing instruments. A key part of the role includes reading and interpreting technical documentation to ensure all transformers meet ERMCO’s quality standards. Strict adherence to ERMCO’s safety policies and procedures is essential to maintain a safe working environment.

Necessary Qualifications:

  • Ability to understand, follow, and communicate detailed written and verbal instructions
  • Proficient in using iPads and other electronic communication devices
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative team environment with open communication
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division across various units of measurement
  • Demonstrated ability to use proper lifting techniques and safely handle materials
  • Capable of grasping, reaching, and manipulating tools, objects, and materials
  • Skilled in using measuring devices such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers (both digital and manual)
  • Experience operating overhead hoists and lift-assist equipment
  • Physically able to lift/push and pull materials weighing 50+ lbs.
  • Able to stand and walk frequently; occasionally sitting, stooping, reaching, or kneeling required
  • Visual acuity of 20/40 (with or without corrective lenses), normal peripheral vision at least 70 degrees, depth perception, and focus adjustment ability
  • Compliance with all plant safety policies, procedures, and department-specific safety rules
  • Must be able to wear required PPE including safety toe shoes, safety glasses, cut-resistant gloves, weld hood, and hearing protection

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 Years of consistent work history
  • 1 year of manufacturing experience
