Overview

This position will use their skillset to wind the coils used in Pad, Pole, or 3Phase transformers while considering the values and goals of ERMCO.

Responsibilities

Understand and carry out detailed written and verbal instructions with regards to the operation of winding coils. Ensure safe and proper start-up, operation, and shut-down of equipment. Repeatedly lift/move material that is 50+ lbs. with or without assistance from lifting devices. Handle material, use hand/power tools, use a torch during soldering operations. Ensure conformity of coils to ERMCO standards. Follow all ERMCO safety polices and procedures.

Qualifications

• Follow, communicate, and understand written and verbal instructions;
• Use an iPad or other electronic communication device;
• Use of organizational skills and attention to detail;
• Add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers and fractions;
• Demonstrate proper lifting techniques;
• Grasp, reach, and handle objects, tools, and materials;
• Use measuring devices such as tape measures and micrometers;
• Use hand/power tools such as Allen wrenches, electric shears, soldering torches, and hammers;
• Operate overhead hoists and lift assist equipment;
• Must be able to lift 50+ lbs. and push/pull 75+ lbs.;
• Frequent standing and walking is necessary and operation of foot controls;
• Occasional sitting, stooping, reaching, or kneeling;
• 20/40 vision is required with or without the use of corrective glasses and/or contact lens, as well as normal peripheral vision no less than 70, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus;
• Must comply with all plant safety policies and procedures and any special department safety rules;
• Must be able to wear all required PPE including, but not limited to: safety toed shoes, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.
